Plan For Success
Some people feel as if they must plan every aspect of their life and their success or failure is based solely on whether or not they can complete the plan. For instance, every day they plan to spend 1 hour getting ready for work, 2 hours going to and from work, 8 hours at work, 2 hours of quality time with the family, 1 hour preparing meals/eating, 8 hours sleeping, 1 hour exercising, and 1 hour with Bible Study/Prayer. On paper this seems like a realistic goal, but in reality, it is lofty. EVERYTHING must go PERFECT for this to work. If anything goes wrong, the entire schedule can be thrown off and they go to bed feeling defeated.
Rather than setting themselves up for success, they are actually setting themselves up for failure. This list is impossible to complete as written. Here is an suggestion. Why not cook, exercise, and do Bible Study/Prayer as a family? That would trim 5 hours of activities down to 3, and it will give you a more realistic chance of having a successful and more meaningful day. Combining tasks is a great way to get more done.
